Running in the DR

We spent the last few days in the Dominican Republic, celebrating the marriage of our friends, Jess and Jim. The ceremony took place on a beautiful white sandy beach at the Excellence Punta Cana Resort.

We found all kinds of things to do while in the DR. While we did spend a decent amount of the time sunbathing and napping on the beach, we also went boogie-boarding, snorkeling, horseback riding, and kayaking. In the mornings, the guys played basketball, while I went for a run or a walk. Jenn and I tried their beginner's yoga class one morning - it was a nice way to stretch out after a long day of traveling. The fitness center at the resort was amazing - they had very nice cardio and weight lifting equipment. They also offered a detoxifying water, which seemed a lot like green tea and was very refreshing after a long run.

We also all played mini-golf, ping-pong and fuse-ball at the sports bar. Mattie and I hit the batting cages one afternoon while eating some delicious raisin and rum ice cream. Yum!  After the wedding dinner, we played pool and more ping-pong and watched some baseball. We even got a chance to show off our dance moves at the discoteca the following night. Oh, so many fun memories!

On the last day, I did a quick 25 minute run along with 20 minutes on the stationary bike before packing up and making the long journey home. What a fun trip!  Whee whee weeeeeeee!
